Dr. FURIYA Miyako

  Graduate of Musashino Music Academy in Japan, majoring in piano performance. Studied in Hungary, mainly at Liszt Music Academy, during 1987, on a scholarship from International Koday's Society focusing on choral conducting (under Ugrin Gabor and Mohayne Katanics Maria) and Piano performance (under Kurtag Gyorgy and Abraham Mariann).
  
  Founded Fukushima Koday's Choir in 1987 after return from Hungary . Director &Conductor of Fukushima Koday's Choir.Fukushima Kodaly Choir performed three times in Hungary and ISME conferences(1996,2006) and IKS symposiums(1997,1999,2001) by conductor Furiya . The repertory is Japanese traditional songs and dances, also modern compositions and European choral music and Hungarian A Capella choral music , Kodaly, Bartok and Bardos and Kurtag.. Fukusima Kodaly Choir performed Bartok Bela’s complete 27 children's and female choral works by Mohayne Katanics Maria in 2001 spring, and performed once again in 2008 August, at Fukushima City Hall and at Toppan Hall in Tokyo conducted by Ugrin Gabor.

  Published many choral CDs; Many Nations- Many Voices, Bartok Bela’s children's and female choral works , and produced the first complete recording CD of Games by Kurtag Gyorgy. Gave presentations and multicultural music workshops many time in international educational conferences e.g. ISME conferences 1996, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006, and IKS conferences 1993, 1995, 1997, .1999, 2001 and 2003.
